Ontario Provincial Police say a nine-year-old girl was killed in an ATV rollover in rural North Frontenac on Thursday afternoon.

In a Friday news release, the Frontenac County detachment said first responders were called to Greer Road around 3:30 p.m. Thursday after someone saw an overturned ATV in a ditch and an injured person with it.

That person was the girl and she was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. They did not release her name nor did they mention any charges.

The police investigation into the rollover continues. Greer Road is a long rural road near Big Gull Lake, about 50 kilometres west of Perth and 75 kilometres north of Kingston.
