Ontario Provincial Police in Perth have charged a 16-year-old youth with second-degree murder following the discovery of a deceased teen on Friday.
Lanark County detachment officers responded to the area of North Street North and Sherbrooke Street East just before 3 p.m. Friday.
One person was located deceased, and another person was arrested at a home in the area.

Police had not released the cause of death as of Sunday.
Police identified the victim as 15-year-old Reese Stanzel of Perth.
“Reese was a son, brother, grandson, nephew, co-worker and friend to many,” read a statement on a GoFundMe page set up to support Stanzel’s family. “Reese had a heart of gold and wouldn’t think twice in helping anyone around him.”
The suspect remained in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for Oct. 31 before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.
The identity of this individual is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The OPP reported that residents could expect to continue to see a large police presence in the area on Saturday as the investigation continued.
