Man stabbed to death in Vanier

A man was stabbed to death in Vanier near the southern edge of the Beechwood Cemetery Monday night, according to Ottawa emergency crews.

A man was stabbed to death in Vanier near the southern border of the Beechwood Cemetery Monday night, according to Ottawa emergency crews. 

Ottawa police said on social media they were called to a reported stabbing on Ste. Monique Street shortly before 8 p.m.

Paramedics told CBC a man was stabbed and critically injured. 

That unnamed man died, police said. They also said one person is in custody without providing further details. 

The scene is about three kilometres east of the city core.
