Suspect sought by Ottawa police for credit-card theft at shopping centre

Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in identifying a man suspected of theft and fraud at the Billings Bridge Shopping Centre on Sept. 5.

Police said an elderly woman’s purse was stolen while she was shopping there at about 11:30 a.m.

Over the next few hours, the suspect made several purchases using the victim’s credit cards.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, between 30 and 40 years of age, standing about five feet eight inches (173 centimetres) tall, with a medium build and dark facial hair. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants, a white baseball cap and, at times, a white medical mask and sunglasses.
