Ottawa weather: Cold and cloudy on Christmas, Hanukkah

Make sure to bundle up on the way to family dinner as it will be cold and cloudy on Christmas and the first day of Hanukkah.

According to Environment Canada, the forecast for Dec. 25 is mainly cloudy with winds up to 15 km/h. The high is -8 C, though it could get as cold -17 with the windchill.

It will be extra cloudy at night, with cloudiness increasing early in the evening. There will be winds up to 15 km/h and the low will be -17 C. With windchill it will be -21 overnight.

As people line up for Boxing Day deals on Thursday, it will be -6 C, with a wind chill of -20. It will be -10 C in the afternoon and there will be 15 km/h winds. At night, it will be clear and there will be a low of -17 C.

On Friday, it will finally be sunny, with a high of -9 C. At night, it’ll be cloudy with a low of -9 C.

On the weekend, it will be warmer but still cloudy, with a high of -1 C. At night, it’ll be cloudy with a low of 2 C. There will be a 60 per cent chance of rain.

On Sunday, it’s forecasted to rain, with a high of 5 C. At night, there will be periods of rain and a low of 4 C.
