A 31-year-old man from Jasper, Ont. is dead following a single-vehicle crash south of Smiths Falls on New Year’s Day.
Emergency crews responded to the crash on County Road 29 shortly before 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Ontario Provincial Police say a car left the roadway, entered a ditch and struck a tree.
“The lone occupant was removed from the car before it caught fire, but the 31-year-old man from Jasper was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the OPP said on X.
