A home in Kinburn, west of Ottawa, was destroyed in an early morning fire Sunday.

Firefighters were called at about 3:30 a.m. by a resident reporting their home on Dwyer Hill Road was burning.

Fire crews arriving at the scene confirmed the fire and immediately requested additional resources to be dispatched.

The home is in a rural area not serviced with fire hydrants. Crews used a water shuttle system to bring water to the scene.

Shortly after 4 a.m., fire crews were forced to temporarily leave the building “due to dangerous conditions.”

The fire was declared under control at about 8:30 a.m.

One person was reported injured.

An investigator is examining the cause of the fire.
