First responders were called to a rural area outside of Greely for a snowmobile incident around 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to firefighters, they were called by Ottawa police to the intersection of Nick Adams and Manotick Station roads. They were told a snowmobiler was thrown from the vehicle about 500 metres down the trail.
Once on scene, crews found the person on the trail lying on their back conscious with an arm injury. Firefighters were told the person was launched from the snowmobile after striking a tree. They started assessing and treating the patient.
Using the side-by-side (UTV) with snow tires, crews brought Ottawa paramedics to the person.
At around 6:00 p.m. the patient was taken in a stokes basket and the UTV was used to bring them off the trail to the ambulance.
