Month-long OPS case ends in over 10 charges laid with guns, drugs seized

Police charged a 32-year-old in connection to an investigation that saw more than 10 charges laid.

The month-long investigation led to the Ottawa resident’s arrest after officers searched two homes in Ottawa south last week.

During the searches they found:

  • Over 7 kg of illicit drugs and precursors, including cocaine, crack cocaine, methamphetamine, and oxycodone
  • .40 calibre handgun with extended magazines
  • Large quantity of ammunition
  • Bulletproof vest
  • Cell phones
  • Large amount of Canadian currency

Police say due to the ongoing investigation they are not releasing the gender or name of the person.

The accused is charged with using/handling/storing a gun carelessly, possesses weapon for dangerous to public, fail to comply with release order, firearm without holding licence and schedule I substance. In total there were 16 offences laid against the person.
