One person is dead and five more have been injured in a single-vehicle rollover near Sharbot Lake, Ont., according to Ontario Provincial Police.
The collision happened Thursday just after noon on Burke Settlement Road north of the community, located about 120 kilometres southwest of Ottawa, according to Const. Rob Martell of the Frontenac OPP.
The victims suffered injuries of varying degrees and were taken to hospitals in Kingston and Perth, plus CHEO, the eastern Ontario’s children’s hospital in Ottawa.
One of the victims was airlifted from the scene. The OPP are not disclosing the age of those injured at this point.
Collision reconstructionists remained at the scene as of mid-afternoon. Martell said the vehicle has been described as a passenger car.
