Carleton Place stabbing sends one to hospital

Provincial police do not believe there is a risk to public safety following a stabbing in Carleton Place.

Around 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a man with a stab wound and other injuries at Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital.

The 36-year-old man was later transferred to a regional trauma centre for treatment and was reported to be in stable condition.

The OPP believe the incident took place earlier the same day at a residence on Caldwell Street, where a police presence remains.

Investigators also believe this was an isolated incident.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information, including relevant doorbell or dashcam images, is asked to contact Lanark OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
