Ottawa Firefighters free trapped driver in North Gower crash

Ottawa firefighters successfully extricated a trapped driver stuck in a flipped car in North Gower, Ont. on Sunday night.

The village is located about 30 minutes south of Ottawa.

The Ottawa Fire Service (OFS) says that they received a call from police around 7:20 p.m. about a vehicle that was upside down in a field with a possible trapped occupant.

Fire crews arrived on scene at the intersection of Lockhead Road West and Fourth Line Road where they found the vehicle.

Firefighters had to cut a hole in a fence to gain access to the car before stabilizing the vehicle and cutting the occupant out.

OFS assessed and treated the driver for injuries before paramedics arrived on scene.
