Ottawa is currently under a severe thunderstorm warning as issued by Environment Canada.
The warning was issued shortly after 4:30 p.m. threatening of a storm producing strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
Meteorologists at Environment Canada forecast wind gusts could reach up to 90 km/h that toss objects and potentially damage buildings
The impacted areas include Lanark, Carleton Place, Franktown, Kanata, Orléans, Richmond and Metcalfe.
