The men face charges including breach of order, conspiracy and possession of burglary tools. The investigation was continuing.

Gatineau police said car theft suspects oftened scout residential neighbourhoods by driving through them at low speeds and urged residents to be vigilant and report suspicious activity.

Police also advised deterring auto theft by parking vehicles in well-lit areas with video surveillance as well as protecting vehicles with anti-theft devices for the steering wheel, on-board diagnostics protectors to block access to the universal OBD sockets and anti-theft devices and tracking systems independent of the vehicle.
