Firefighters spent the early morning hours battling a fire in an unoccupied building in the Glebe Annex.
Just after 4 a.m., Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to the 400 block of Cambridge Street South, between Plymouth Street and Powell Avenue, following several 9-1-1 calls reporting an apartment building on fire.
Fire crews arrived on scene within five minutes of being dispatched.
Crews searched the building and found it to be unoccupied.
Photos from the scene show significant damage to the back of the building.
A fire investigator has been dispatched to the scene to determine the origin and cause.
