CC-144 Challenger to conduct flyby over TD Place as Ottawa Redblacks kick off season

A Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CC-144 Challenger will conduct a flyby over TD Place Thursday evening, as the Ottawa Redblacks kick off the 2024 season.

The aircraft will approach TD Place from the East and fly directly over the field heading West at 7:33 p.m., with a return fly over at approximately 7:38 p.m.

The RCAF says these flybys are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety and are dependent upon weather and flying conditions. The aircraft will fly at an altitude no lower than 500 feet above the highest obstacle on its route.

The CC-144 Challenger is used to transport government officials and foreign dignitaries and supports military operations in Canada and around the world.

The Challenger can quickly deliver passengers almost anywhere and some are equipped to support emergency medical evacuations.

They also have successfully supported many humanitarian and diplomatic missions.
