The nation’s capital and much of Ontario were blanketed with warnings from Environment Canada.
On Thursday, the weather agency alerted the public of severe thunderstorms and possible tornadoes across the province. In Ottawa and the surrounding area, the storm swept across with a force knocking down — at least in one instance — a tree.
Some people took to social media to document the storm as it passed over Ottawa late Thursday evening.
“Quite the storm tonight,” Connie Nowdluk wrote on X. “The sky is lighting up constantly! Just in awe watching the sky!”
