There are no injuries after a fire in Rockcliffe Park over the weekend.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a two-storey single family home in the 0-100 block of Crescent Road around 12:50 p.m. on Sunday, June 23.
A 9-1-1 caller had reported smoke and flames coming from the home and a working fire was declared while crews were on route due to visible black smoke in the air.
Crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed in smoke and flames and a second alarm was immediately declared to dispatch additional resources to the scene.
It was confirmed by the property owner that the home was unoccupied, and firefighters quickly had several hose lines on the fire, which had spread throughout the first and second floors of the home.
Flames could also be seen jutting from the roof and an aerial ladder was set up to attack the fire from above.
At 1:18 p.m., firefighters were pulled out of the home due to dangerous conditions.
Also, smoke from the fire was blowing towards a neighbouring home and the owners were advised to shut their windows. The air quality inside the neighbouring home was also checked by crews to make sure there were no high readings of carbon monoxide.
The fire was declared under control at 5:18 p.m.
OFS says victim assistance will not be required and the fire is now under investigation.
