Injured construction worker rescued from roof in Gloucester

An injured construction worker was rescued from a roof in Gloucester Monday afternoon.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to the 2000 block of Glenfern Avenue around 2:30 p.m. where the employee of a construction company was injured and unable to get down from the roof on their own.

Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the worker was on the lower roof of a two-storey home.

The OFS Rope Rescue team was dispatched to the scene and firefighters treated the patient prior to their arrival.

Once on scene, the rescue team used a rope, a stokes basket, and a 30-foot ladder to remove the worker from the roof.

The worker was safely back on the ground within 30 minutes of crews being dispatched.
