There are no injuries after a driver crashed their vehicle into the garage of a home in Kanata.
Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a bungalow in the 0-100 block of Coulson Court just after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25.
Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the vehicle has crashed through the brick wall of the attached garage, and because the structural integrity of the garage was compromised, the OFS Structural Collapse Team was dispatched to the scene.
The team cleared debris from the area and began shoring the structure while power to the garage was isolated.
OFS Public Information Officer Nick DeFazio tells CityNews Ottawa, a double header was built using 4x4s, which was then supported with two paratech struts.
He says the vehicle was then safely removed from the area before it was cordoned off with scene tape.
The homeowners were able to remain in the home and the scene was cleared just after 1 p.m.
