O-Train Line 1 not running for two weeks through downtown core

Between Tunney’s Pasture and Rideau stations there will be no service on Line 1 of the Ottawa light rail transit (LRT) system from July 15 to 28.

In a press release, the city said OC Transpo and Rideau Transit Maintenance are performing “corrective” work along that section of the line. Service is set to resume on July 29.

Over the two weeks, the LRT will still run between Blair and uOttawa stations.

For those impacted by the closure, R1 bus service will run between Tunney’s Pasture and Hurdman stations.

E1 shuttle express bus will run between Blair station and downtown seven days a week during the O-Train disruptions.

“We understand that this work can be disruptive and appreciate your patience as we perform necessary maintenance,” the city said. “All light rail systems require regular maintenance work on a frequent basis.”
