Four people have been taken to hospital after what the Ontario Provincial Police referred to as a “serious” two-vehicle collision on Wolfe Island near Kingston.

Bill Dickson, media relations co-ordinator for the OPP East Region, said in an interview that two people in each vehicle were injured in the crash on Road 96 near 9th Line Road, one with serious injuries.

Two of the individuals involved in the incident were transported to a local trauma centre by air ambulance.

The collision took place shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday.

The road remains closed as the police investigation continues.

The OPP are seeking witnesses and ask anyone who saw the collision or has dash-cam footage to contact the Leeds County OPP detachment.
