The Ottawa Police Service (OPS) Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Unit charged a local man with one count of sexual assault and forcible confinement.
OPS received a complaint about 25-year-old Samer Al-Akhali of Ottawa, following an incident this past weekend.
Al-Akhali assaulted a woman in her late teens, while driving her home, wrote the Ottawa Police Service. The woman was held against her will in a moving vehicle.
The defendant is scheduled to appear in court today.
According to SACA, it is investigating the possibility of other victims and other incidents involving Al-Akhali.
