The City of Ottawa is honouring the life of former Gloucester councillor Kenneth Vowles by lowering the flags to half-mast at City Hall.
Vowles died on July 15 and his funeral is being held July 26.
He was a member of the Royal Air Force, Royal Canadian Air Force and Canadian Air Forces Military police. After serving for over 15 years he was a salesman and eventually a politician.
Vowles was a councillor of the Ward G5 Orléans South from 1997 to 2000, where he participated in the Ad Hoc Grants Committee and Gloucester Recreation Advisory Committee, among others.
“He was also a well-known author, commentator, and devoted husband, father and grandfather,” the city said in a press release.
