Ottawa man, 27, charged with second-degree murder in Orléans stabbing death

Police have charged a 27-year-old Ottawa man with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Varney Marshall, 34, on Mockingbird Drive in Orléans earlier this month.

Police said Muhammad Khattak, 27, of Ottawa has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Police discovered the body of a man at a home in the 300 block of Mockingbird Drive in Orléans last Wednesday evening.

The discovery was first described as “suspicious,” by police. But it was officially classified as homicide on Friday.
