Ottawa police say they’ve identified everyone involved after a 16-year-old boy was fatally injured in a Centretown park Friday night, but say they haven’t yet reached his closest relatives.
Emergency crews responded to reports of a fight Friday evening at McNabb Park, at the corner of Bronson and Gladstone avenues.
The boy was found suffering from undisclosed injuries, police said. He was taken to hospital and later died.
In a news release issued late Monday morning, police said they’re not releasing the teen’s name because they hadn’t finished notifying his next of kin.
“No suspects are wanted, and all persons involved in this incident have been identified,” they wrote.
No charges or arrests have been announced. Police said Monday they have no further details to share.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Ottawa police homicide unit or Crime Stoppers.
