It’s going to be another one of those weekends, according to Environment Canada.
They’re expecting rain and lots of it through Sunday.
In a special statement covering Ottawa, Gatineau, and a vast territory ranging from Pembroke to Cornwall and the St. Lawrence River, and all areas in between, the agency says: “Significant rainfall is expected this weekend.”

The forecast calls for local rainfall amounts of 40 to 80 millimetres and as much as 40 millimetres in an hour.
“Showers and thunderstorms will continue tonight into Sunday night. The heaviest rainfall is expected Sunday afternoon. Locally higher amounts in thunderstorms are possible Sunday afternoon and evening,” the advisory said.
“This weather pattern typically brings rapidly changing conditions between sunny skies and heavy downpours. Rainfall warnings may be required and issued on short notice to reflect rapidly changing conditions.
“Showers and thunderstorms are expected to taper to isolated showers on Monday.”
Environment Canada also notes heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
