Police searching for two more suspects after targeted Renfrew home invasion

Provincial police from the Renfrew Detachment are looking for two more suspects they believe are connected to a home invasion and assault.

On Aug. 24 at around 6:00 p.m. in Renfrew, about an hour north of the nation’s capital, people broke into a home on Bonnechere Street South. The suspects assaulted the resident who suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, officers located the homeowner’s car on Briscoe Road where two people were arrested.

Police have now issued a warrant for a third person, while they ask for the public’s assistance to identify the fourth individual.

“It is believed this was a targeted incident and there is no risk to the general public,” the press release notes.

As a result, Maged Kassis, 35, of Renfrew and Jenevieve Lemaire, 31, of Grand Calumet Island were charged with:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Aggravated assault
  • Forcible confinement
  • Arson – damage to property
  • Theft of a vehicle
  • Theft under $5000
  • Break and enter

Additionally Kassis, was charged with assault to a peace officer and fail to comply with a probation order.

Both are in custody until they appear in the Pembroke courthouse later this week.
