Paralympics in Paris 2024: These are the Ottawa-area athletes going for gold

Eleven athletes will represent Ottawa and its surrounding communities at the Paralympics in Paris from August 28 to September 8. Hailing from places like Carleton Place, Kitchener, London, and Deep River, Ont., these athletes will compete in events ranging from para archery to wheelchair fencing to goalball, among other disciplines.

Earlier this month, 19 Ottawa-area athletes competed in the Olympic Games. Their performances added to Canada’s strong showing on the world stage, inspiring the next wave of athletes heading into the Paralympic Games.
