Ottawa man charged with careless driving after Highway 7 head-on collision

A 67-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with careless driving after a head-on collision Friday on Highway 7 near McGowan Lake.

Officers from the Lanark County OPP detachment responded to the crash at about 3:45 p.m., along with Lanark County paramedics and firefighters from the Drummond/North Elmsley Tay Valley Fire Rescue Service. An off-duty firefighter was at the scene already tending to the victims.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision, with two drivers taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injures, police said in a news release Saturday.

McGowan Lake is located between Perth and Sharbot Lake, about 100 kilometres outside of Ottawa.
