Ottawa police and paramedics say a man was fatally stabbed on George Street downtown Thursday night.
Emergency crews started being called to the stretch of the street roughly between Dalhousie Street and King Edward Avenue after 10:30 p.m., according to a police news release and paramedic email.
A man had been stabbed, paramedics said, and was taken to a hospital in life-threatening condition. Police said he later died and they’re still in the process of notifying family.
No arrests or suspects have been announced. Police said there’s no known threat to public safety but people should avoid the area as they investigate.
