Police investigating shooting in Rideau, Dalhousie Street area

The Ottawa Police Service is investigating a shooting that took place in downtown Ottawa on Friday afternoon.

In a social media post, police said the shooting took place at around 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 20, with officers responding to a call in the area of Rideau and Dalhousie streets.

It said all parties had been located and that there was no threat to public safety.

The post said the investigation into the shooting was ongoing, with police asking anyone with information to contact 613-236-1222 ext 5166.

The downtown shooting took place less than 24 hours after 34-year-old Ahmed Salim-Al-Badri was killed in a shooting on Heron Road. Police said Friday that the investigation into the homicide continued and had not specified if any arrests had been made.
