Homicide investigation begins after man stabbed Sept. 23 in Metcalfe dies

Ottawa police have opened a homicide investigation after a 66-year-old man who was stabbed two weeks ago in Metcalfe succumbed to his injuries.

Roger Dale Lusk died on the weekend, the Ottawa Police Service said in a news release Monday afternoon.

The stabbing took place late in the morning of Sept. 23 in the area of Ira Morgan Way in the village located about 30 km southeast of Ottawa.

At the time, it was reported that the victim was in critical condition, but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

Monday’s update offered few new details, but stated that police did not believe there is any ongoing threat to public safety.
