Ottawa crews tackle stubborn bungalow fire in Nepean

Firefighters spent the early morning hours battling a stubborn house fire in Nepean.

Ottawa Fire Services (OFS) responded to a bungalow in the 90 block of Rossland Avenue shorty after 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, following multiple 9-1-1 calls.

A neighbor had reported seeing flames coming through the window of a single-family home across the street.

The occupants had safely evacuated the home when crews arrived on scene and a working fire was quickly declared.

Firefighters began a fast attack, moving inside the home, and after completing two full searches, confirmed there was no one inside.

The fire was declared under control at 5:11 a.m. and an OFS investigator has been dispatched to determine what caused the blaze.
