Ottawa police seeking suspect in Rideau Street assault

Ottawa police are requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault in the 200 block of Rideau Street on Sept. 16.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. that evening, the suspect attempted to take something from the victim and, when the victim would not allow him to take it, assaulted him. The victim received minor injuries, a police news release on Tuesday said.

The suspect was described as a black male between 30 and 40 years of age and standing approximately five feet eight inches (173 centimetres) tall with short black hair. At the time of the incident, he wore a blue bathrobe and sandals.
