The Creepy Doll Museum descends on the nation’s capital

“Come play with us.”

That’s what the dolls at The Creepy Doll Museum are saying according to curators. They are very excited to inhale the breath of sleeping people in Ottawa and nibble on nail clippings they find on the floor.

The almost 200 wayward dolls will be at the House of Commons Gallery (11b Fairmonth Ave.) in Hintonburg on Oct. 18 and 19 for a special exhibit. According to the event posting, the museum hosted sold out shows in Peterborough, Toronto and Prince Edward County.

“We have reminded our dolls to be on their best behaviour, but, as a precautionary measure, we have notified police services that they may hear of increased incidences of stolen toe-nail clippings, scabs left on pillows, or mysteriously suckled hair,” coordinators said.

Each doll has a unique biography written by a variety of Ontario authors that explain their tragic, haunting or whimsical histories.

However, experts note although they try to subdue the dolls’ wicked instincts by giving them love and attention, they sometimes act out. In these scenarios, curators assure guest safety is a top priority, saying mediums are on hand for the “unthinkable.”

Tickets for the event are just under $12 per person, with officials noting all proceeds go towards funding exorcisms for the liveliest dolls.

“The more time you spend amongst our collection, the more you come to realize that creepy dolls are just like you and I,” the event post notes.
