Summer-like temperatures on tap for nation’s capital this weekend

It’s a perfect weekend to get outside and check out the fall foliage!

It’s going to feel a lot like summer in the National Capital Region this weekend — and into next week.

According to Environment Canada, the skies be clear all weekend in Ottawa with daytime highs near 20 C.

You may need to keep a sweater handy for the evening and overnight hours, as it will be cooler, though still above seasonal.

The overnight lows for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are 4C, 7C and 10 C, respectively.

The weather agency adds that Monday will be even warmer, with sunshine and a high 23 C, and while a few clouds are expected to roll in for Tuesday, it’s still looking to be a dry day with a high 20 C.

The first chance of rain in the long-term forecast is Wednesday when we will also see the temperature start to cool off.

By Thursday of next week, the temperature will be much more seasonal.

  • Saturday: Sunny. High 18 C.
  • Sunday: Sunny. High 19 C.

  • Wednesday: Cloudy with a 30 per cent chance of showers. High 17 C.
  • Thursday: Cloudy. 12 C.

The average daytime high for this time of year is 11 C.
