Police seek driver in Old Richmond Road cyclist fatality

Ottawa police are looking for the driver of a four-door Hyundai Tundra who “may have crucial information” concerning a fatal crash on Old Richmond Road on Sept. 26.

“The driver may hold important details regarding the events leading up to a cyclist, a man in his 50s, being found on Old Richmond Road near Hope Side Road,” police said in a release.

The victim was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police said the vehicle is believed to be a 2019-2021 model Hyundai Tucson.

The vehicle was seen travelling south on Old Richmond Road and turning onto Hope Side Road on Sept. 26 between 5:10 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

Anyone with information, including the Hyundai driver, is urged to contact Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 2345.
