13-year-old charged after 2 shot with air gun in Gatineau

Gatineau, Que., police have arrested a 13-year-old boy who allegedly hit two people in the face with lead projectiles fired from an air gun on Thursday.

In a news release, police said they were called about someone shooting at vehicles and passerby on promenade Crescent in the city’s Aylmer sector late that morning.

By gathering several witness descriptions, officers were able to arrest the youth nearby. They said he had an air gun with him.

Police said two people were hit in the face by the projectiles, but didn’t suffer serious injuries. 

The teen was released on a conditional promise to appear in court and handed over to his parents. 

Gatineau police say several charges will be submitted including assault with a weapon, carrying a weapon for a dangerous purpose, wearing a disguise for a dangerous purpose and obstructing justice.
