Ottawa police have charged three people in connection to an October kidnapping, robbery and extortion incident in Orléans.
Ottawa Police Service said in a Friday morning news release a suspect picked up the victim on Oct. 21 and drove them to a residence in the east-end suburb of Orléans.
Once there, the victim was confined to the residence, assaulted, filmed and told to hand over money, police said.
The victim escaped the next day and alerted someone to call police, police said.
On Oct. 25, police arrested and charged a 17-year-old in connection to the incident.
On Nov. 13, officers executed a search warrant at an Orléans residence where evidence at the scene supported charging two more people: a 35-year-old Ottawa woman and a 20-year-old Ottawa man.
The woman was charged with one count each of forcible confinement, kidnapping, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of a weapon for committing an offence, possession of child pornography, sexual assault with a weapon, sexual exploitation of a young person and robbery.
The man was charged with forcible confinement, kidnapping, possession of a weapon for committing an offence, possession of child pornography, sexual assault with a weapon, robbery and breach of probation.
The 17-year-old accused is facing charges of robbery with a weapon, kidnapping, forcible confinement, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of child pornography, breach of probation and failure to comply with a sentence.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing and that they are concerned there may be other victims.
