The body of a 62-year-old man from Scranton, Pa., has been recovered after a suspected drowning at Muskrat Lake, about 100 kilometres west of Ottawa, on the weekend.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they were called to the lake shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday after a boater fell overboard and didn’t resurface.
The man’s body was recovered a short time later, according to an OPP news release issued Monday.
The narrow lake stretches from north to south within the Township of Whitewater Region, with Cobden, Ont., sitting along its southern shore.
The Office of the Chief Coroner will perform a postmortem examination as part of the investigation, OPP said.
