Two Ottawa men are wanted on Canada-wide warrants in relation to a recent homicide near Carling and Kirkwood avenues.
Soubere Yusuf Akli, 28, and Kennedid Atteyeh, 23, are wanted for first-degree murder in the shooting of Adam Abdullahi Elmi, also of Ottawa, on July 5.
Officers found Elmi with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but later died.
Akli is described by police as a Black male, six-feet-one-inch tall, with dark eyes and dark hair.
Police describe Atteyeh as a Black male, six-feet-four-inches tall, with dark eyes and short dark hair.
Police said Thursday they believe both men have left the country.
They’re advising the public not to approach either suspect, and to instead call 911. Anyone with any information on their whereabouts or the killing is asked to contact the Ottawa police.
The homicide unit is investigating the case.
