Canada’s Camryn Rogers secures women’s hammer throw Olympic title

Camryn Rogers of Richmond, B.C., won the Olympic gold medal in the women’s hammer throw final at Stade de France in Paris on Tuesday.

Rogers took the lead with her fifth throw of 76.97 metres. Annette Nneka Echikunwoke (75.48) of the U.S. took silver. Zhao Jie (74.27) of China earned bronze. 

Canadian athletes have swept the sport’s Olympic titles in Paris, with Ethan Katzberg posting a dominant victory in the men’s event on Sunday.
