Canada’s Summer McIntosh wins women’s 200m individual medley gold

Summer McIntosh won the Olympic women’s 200-metre individual medley title on Saturday in Paris to propel Canada to its biggest medal haul in the pool at an Olympic Games.

The 17-year-old phenom from Toronto posted an Olympic record time of two minutes 6.56 seconds. Fellow Canadian Sydney Pickrem was seventh.

Earlier on Saturday, Canadian swimmers Josh Liendo and Ilya Kharun both made it to the podium in the men’s 100m butterfly final, earning silver and bronze, respectively.

The Canadian mixed 4x100m medley relay team goes for gold at 3:58 p.m. ET.
