A 39-year-old man who was critically injured in a collision with an OC Transpo bus in the city’s south end on Saturday afternoon has died, Ottawa police said Monday.

A 39-year-old driver who was critically injured in a collision with an OC Transpo bus in the city’s south end on Saturday afternoon has died, Ottawa police said.
First responders were called to the intersection of Blohm Drive and Hunsterswood Crescent around 3 p.m. after reports of a collision.
The driver of the vehicle was trapped inside and had to be removed by Ottawa Fire Services. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
In a release Monday afternoon, police said the man had died of his injuries, but did not specify when.
There were seven passengers on board the OC Transpo bus at the time of the collision, the transit agency said. Two of the passengers and the bus operator sustained minor injuries and were assessed by paramedics at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing. Ottawa police are asking anyone who saw the crash or may have dashcam or doorbell footage to contact them at 613-236-1222 ext. 2345.
