Man dead after golf cart rollover in North Frontenac

A 44-year-old man from Apsley, Ont., is dead after a golf cart rolled over into a ditch in North Frontenac on Tuesday evening, Ontario Provincial Police said.

One man is dead after a golf cart rolled over into a ditch in North Frontenac on Tuesday evening, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said Wednesday.

OPP said the cart was travelling along Ardoch Road but left the roadway near Canoe Path.

Officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m. after a passerby spotted a “golf cart rolled over in the ditch, with the driver trapped underneath it,” OPP said in a news release.

A 44-year-old man from the village of Apsley, north of Peterborough, Ont., was fatally injured in the crash.

The roadway was closed for three hours but has since reopened.

OPP and the Coroner’s Officer of Ontario are investigating the cause of the incident.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed it to call them at 1-888-310-1122.
