Ottawa police say they believe a man found dead in an Orléans home Wednesday evening was murdered and are looking for whoever’s responsible.

Police first said in a news release on Thursday they were investigating a 34-year-old man’s death on Mockingbird Drive in the east Ottawa community.

They said in an update Friday that Varney Marshall had been found stabbed by emergency crews and they had launched a murder investigation. Police did not mention any arrests or suspects.

Investigators are looking for anyone with surveillance video or who was in the area. The scene is between Jeanne d’Arc Boulevard and Highway 174 about 15 kilometres east of the downtown core.
