Ottawa paramedics say a man suffered life-threatening injuries when the car he was driving collided with an OC Transpo bus south of Algonquin College late Friday morning.

A spokesperson said paramedics were called to the area of Woodroffe Avenue and Knoxdale Road around 11:40 a.m. A woman on the bus was seriously injured, they said.

A social media video posted by Coun. Sean Devine shows an OC Transpo bus stopped in the intersection near a dark-coloured car with major damage to its front.

Knoxdale and Woodroffe are closed in the area. Ottawa police said to expect the closures to remain for several more hours.

OC Transpo is rerouting 83 Merivale and 82 Bayshore buses.
