Ottawa man charged with 2nd-degree murder in Orléans stabbing

A 27-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of another man in Orléans last week, Ottawa police said Wednesday.

A 27-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder following the death of another man in Orléans last week, Ottawa police said Wednesday. 

Muhammad Khattak of Ottawa is charged with fatally stabbing 34-year-old Varney Marshall. Khattak is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.

Emergency crews arrived at a home on Mockingbird Drive shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 7. Paramedics declared Marshall dead at the scene and police deemed the death as suspicious.

On Friday, police announced they were investigating the death as a homicide.
