Party leaders highlight their top priorities on 1st day of Ontario election campaign

Ontario’s a big province. Sure, it’s true the vote-rich Greater Toronto Area is where the race will be won, but Wednesday’s campaign launch largely sees the candidates on the road.

PC Leader Doug Ford will be in Windsor (perhaps to launch his “Protect Ontario” slogan with a view of the U.S. behind him?)

NDP Leader Marit Stiles will launch in downtown Toronto in the revitalized Regent Park neighbourhood.

Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie is heading to Barrie, where her party hopes to flip the riding of Barrie-Springwater-Oro Medonte from the PCs after narrowly losing in 2022.

Green Party Leader Mike Schreiner will speak with reporters at Queen’s Park before hopping in his electric car and heading to Guelph and Kitchener – his party’s power base.

The leaders are all set to speak at 10 a.m. ET, so tune in to CBC’s special programming (in the player above) and we’ll bring you highlights from all of their speeches.

We’ll be updating this story as we learn more. If you’re looking for more traditional stories, just head to cbc.ca/ontariovotes2025.
